 After a swim in the pool, this thing keeps on going! July 8, 2010

I don't normally write product reviews unless I'm very motivated, but after what happened this weekend with this flash drive I just had to share. I accidentally kept this drive (which lives on my keychain) in my pocket when I jumped into the pool. 1-2 minutes later I realized it was still (completely submerged) in my pocket. I jumped out of the pool, dried the drive off with my towel as best I could, blew on it, and left it in the sun for a few minutes.
Low and behold, plugging it into my computer it worked flawlessly as if nothing had happened. Talk about durability!
Overall, this drive is very sturdy (thanks to the titanium) and fast. The copper color isn't my favorite, but I can live with it. The retractable USB port is very convenient (no caps!) and stays clean in my pocket, but it can be a little difficult to hold the slider while pushing the drive into a computer. This is especially true when you're trying to plug this into a USB port with other peripherals attached in neighboring ports. Again, not a huge deal, though, and the hassle is worth it to have the retracting mechanism.
I think this drive came with some sort of online backup software and / or a serial number to register to get the drive back if it was lost, but I formatted the drive when I got and it never looked into these features.

I've had other drives from promotions, work, etc. The cruzer titanium is the one I trust with my own files and it's better than anything else I've used. I normally hate preloaded software, as well, but I use the encryption on this drive and it's very easy and doesn't get in the way at all.

I purchased it 15 days ago. It worked on vista/xp pc without any problem. I am very happy on its security feature, no need to put cap on the drive.

I got this to port documents back and forth to school (they have free printing). I have also used it for backing up essays that I want to save and for Power-Point presentations. It is allways in my backpack and is holding up very well.
